Conservation Programs

ZV conservation programs

Zoos Victoria is committed to conservation at a local, national and international level. This commitment is realised in a variety of ways, from financial support to the provision of staff resources that contribute directly to conservation programs.

Zoos Victoria focuses on a select number of priority programs to ensure it can make significant contributions to these programs on a long-term basis.

Zoos Victoria's animal collection provides the foundation for all of its activities and plays a vital role in delivering conservation outcomes. The collection contributes directly as part of a breeding program to reintroduce animals to the wild and acts as a ‘flagship' for nature by highlighting the environmental threats faced by animals and promoting solutions.
