Children's Week 2009 Launch at Melbourne Zoo
Children's Week 2009 will be launched at the Melbourne Zoo on Sunday 25 October 2009 with FREE entry for children 15 years and under. (Adults and young people over 15 will need to pay the entry fee into the Zoo.)
The fun day will commence with a variety of child-friendly activities to be held between 10am and 3pm in various locations around the Melbourne Zoo.
Children can have their face painted, participate in Tai Chi for kids or ‘Wacky Musical Instrument' workshops, create Chinese lanterns or contribute to the gorillas mural, learn about their favourite animals from keepers or dance along with the Empress Stilt Dancers.
Entertainment by the Wonderful World of Mr MenTM and Little MissTM will commence at 10.30am followed by the official launch of Children's Week by Maxine Morand MP, Minister for Children and Early Childhood Development.
Blinky BillTM and his friend will sing and dance their way through a musical adventure.

Children's Week at Healesville Sanctuary
On Saturday 31 October entry is FREE for children 15 years and under. (Adults and young people over 15 will need to pay the entry fee into the Sanctuary).
Our activities are all about flying critters! Flap into one of our daily shows in our fantastic flight arena, Birds of Prey (12 noon and 2.30pm daily) and Parrots in Flight (1.30pm daily).
Meet Karak, the Red-tailed Black Cockatoo character and learn Boomerang throwing with Murrundindi. Plus there will be bird-spotting tips from our bird experts and special ‘Junior Birdo' activities.
And don't forget to fly-in wearing your ‘finest feathers' - we'll be out there bird-spotting and giving out prizes for the best dressed!

Children's Week at Werribee Open Range Zoo
On Saturday 31 October entry is FREE for children 15 years and under. (Adults and young people over 15 will need to pay the entry fee into the Zoo).
Immerse your Children in a fun and interactive cultural experience at Werribee Open Range Zoo.
Furaha African Acrobats will hold Children's workshops sharing their skills in such things as Human Pyramid, Jumping Hoops, Limbo dance and Juggling, as well as delighting their audience with performances throughout the day.
Performances and workshops will be held throughout the day from 10.00am to 3.00pm
